C-TASC staff have a long history of conducting pediatric clinical trials and studies. Most recently they have completed the BABY HUG clinical trial, a trial designed to evaluate the efficacy of Hydroxyurea in preventing organ failure for infants diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia. This was a multi-center clinical trial involving an IND, and NDA, which C-TASC is fully supporting for submission to the FDA. Dr. Frederick was a lead statistician on the dietary intervention for school-aged children DISC clinical trial, and continues to specialize in nutritional studies designed to look at growth and development of young adults. Most recently, she has served as the Principal Investigator for the Bone Mineral Density Study, a study designed to create national standards for calcium accretion in bones of pre-teen to post-adolescent men and women.
