C-TASC's Board of Directors

Bruce Thompson, PhD
Chairman of the Board and President

As the senior biostatistician at C-TASC, Dr. Thompson has over 25 years of experience with multicenter clinical trials. During his esteemed career, Dr. Thompson has co-authored more than 85 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Currently, he is the Principal Investigator (PI) for three National Institutes of Health (NIH) studies. Additionally, Dr. Thompson has developed the statistical analyses required to shape the clinical design of these studies and other large clinical trials coordinated by C-TASC.

Dr. Thompson has a BA in Microbiology from the University of Missouri and a PhD in Biostatistics from Johns Hopkins University.

Margaret Frederick, PhD
Vice President

Dr. Frederick is a biostatistician and Vice-President of C-TASC. With over 20 years experience in biomedical research, Dr. Frederick has co-authored more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals. She is currently the PI for two NIH studies and a Co-PI for one other.

Dr. Frederick received her BS in Chemistry (minor Mathematics) from Randolph-Macon College and her PhD in Biostatistics from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University.

Chris Donhauser, MBA
Executive Director

As the C-TASC Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Donhauser is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of C-TASC. For over 20 years, he has worked on grant and contract administration related to clinical trials. Mr. Donhauser is very familiar with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Federal Grants Management policies and has been responsible for numerous contract/grant business proposals, contract/grant negotiations, indirect cost proposals and audits of contract and grant budgets and proposals. Mr. Donhauser has an undergraduate degree in accounting and has a working knowledge of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars (A21, A110, A-122, and A-133) and FAR cost principles.

Mr. Donhauser is the former Treasurer of the Society for Clinical Trials and a member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA).

Bob Kaplan, MHA
Chief Information Officer

Bob Kaplan is Chief Information Officer at C-TASC. He has more than 16 years of experience in healthcare technology and specializes in designing technology infrastructures. He has formerly held CIO and Vice President positions for organizations including the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care, the National Committee for Quality Assurance and WebMD. Mr. Kaplan holds a master’s degree in health care administration from George Washington University and performed his administrative residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
