Lung Tissue Research Consortium (LTRC) - Data Coordinating Center
The LTRC is a study designed to collect clinical data, lung tissues, and CT scans from participants with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or Interstitial Lung Disease. The primary goal of the study is to link clinical information, CT data files, and study tissue specimens and blood specimens so that investigators can analyze data and specimens of studies they have designed. C-TASC coordinates the collection of these materials and their distribution to LTRC or external investigators once the investigator’s study is approved by an independent Protocol Review Committee. C-TASC staff were/are responsible for designing the Protocol, Manual of Operations, study forms, scheduling meetings of the Steering Committee, providing materials to the Observational Study Monitoring Board (OSMB), assisting with the statistical design of studies for investigators requesting tissues, performing quality control analyses of the lung specimens and CT scans being collected, and overseeing the distribution of the clinical data, specimens, and CT data to investigators. Investigators are allowed to perform limited statistical analyses from the public Web page and can view portions of the CT scans and selected tissue slides from LTRC participants. The reviewers are invited to browse the LTRC public Web page (http://www.ltrcpublic.com) to see how this study functions.
